More after I get warm and is this really baseball season?

 

Of note: CovCath will play Cov Holy Cross at Meinken field tomorrow Thursday April 16 at 5pm.

Ouch. Consecutive massacres vs. Conner and Boone. Sounds like CC is starting to click on a few more cylinders. Congrats to the Blue Colonels, definite favorites to win the 9th this year.

Whats CCHS record thus far?

I think they are up to 10-0. In addition, they just won the 33rd district regular season crown today. :laugh:

Ten is actually pretty good considering the poor weather in April thus far. Sounds like the next 3 days should be good days for baseball finally. I don't see CC losing more than a couple to 9th region teams this year.

Thats good I'd hate to see Krumps fail getting to that magic 20 win mark due to rain... I'm impressed they got 10 in. I coach knothole baseball and we have counting scrimmages 1 of our 9 attempts at a game in. If Krumps wans games set his schedule around my little guys game days and the weather should be clear lol....

No problem with CC hitting 20 wins. They will get 30 unless we have terrible weather.

I think CovCath is beginning to make a statement with their last two wins. This game should have been over sooner, but unfortunately after our top 3 pitchers we see a significant drop off. Shumate usually does much better than he did tonight and I'm positive he'll be fine, but I hope that is sooner than later.

 

The starting pitcher for Boone was wild. And after that it did not get much better. Boone just didn't look very good to me today, and at times I was scared when they fielded a ball in the infield as they didn't seem like they could even get it over to first. The weather is without a doubt terrible, but I really expected more, and I'm sure we'll see better out of them in the future. Their catcher hit the heck out of the ball!

 

Please let there be some baseball weather from here on out, this just isn't baseball appropriate lol.

I do not think Boone pitched their best, but they went through three, so who knows.

 

CCH started with Krumme who did well until he started getting hit in the fourth. They then brought in Shumate who just didn't have it today at all. Darner came in for the last part of the fifth inning and the sixth to finish it out. He is good for an inning, and he throws hard, but when the batter connects, it's a hard hard hit. CCH desperately needs some relief.

Lousy, lousy day for baseball and as Oscar stated this game should have been over sooner. Krumme started and won his second game (2-0) and Darner came in and closed out the game with one and one third innings of pitching. In between Shumate pitched today like he did against Dixie and that was not very good but then again as Oscar stated he is young and he will get better.

 

CovCath sent a total of 15 different players to the plate today with most of the subs getting as many as two AB's, while Boone starters accounted for all there AB's except for one AB. Coach Krumps is getting to see his subs play, and IMO it will help the Colonels in the long run...

 

The good: The hitting continues, as well as the infield play especially in this weather.

 

The bad: Far too many men left on base (10) to suit me today.

 

The ugly: The weather. This has got to be one of the worst springs that I think I have seen in years and years. They say it was twenty degrees colder than normal today.

By the way, I also think CovCath's base running needs some work still...just seems like we have people thrown out more often than not.

Covcath this time last year had 9 games in.
