If you like defense, then you didn't like game two between Pitt and Car. Pens win 7-4 and take a 2-0 lead in the series... :ylsuper:

Pens up 3-0 and Detroit takes a 3-1 series lead with the win today.

Looks like we're on pace for a rematch of last years Stanley Cup Final....

GO PENS

The Pens are in with the sweep of Carolina, and Detroit will probably soon follow. Unfortunately, I'd bet on the Wings.

To be the man, you have to beat the man. The task facing the Pens...

Not many giving the pens a chance against the wings...

Not many giving the pens a chance against the wings...

To be honest, I'm in that category, but maybe it bodes well for the Pens. I look at the predictions on CBS Sports, and of the four columnists, only one picked the Pens to win more than one series. And two of the columnists picked them to win none at all. The users have picked 11 correctly out of 14 series, better than any of the columnists.

I like the Wings to repeat...I'l say Wings in 6.

With all the dings to keys Detroit players, though, this series could be a big one for the Pens. Crosby has been playing well and if Malkin continues his fine play of late, the Wings could be in trouble.

Datsyuk and Draper are out for game 1 tonight.

If the Pens want to win this series they have to use their youth. Detroit is a veteran team and their age showed in a few of the games against Chicago, who is a very youthful team. If the Pens get the Wings down, they have to keep them down, something Chicago didn't do. Pittsburgh has to get an early lead and not let Detroit hold possession of the puck in the zone for extended periods of time. Also stay out of the box, Detroit's powerplay is among the best, but is a missing a big piece in Pavel Datsyuk.

I think the Pens out played the wings the first two periods, but didn't get the puck in the net and thats what counts.:irked:

credit the lively end boards of joe louis arena with two of the wings' goals....

Pens came on strong the last half of the first period, in out shooting the wings 11-0. After the first, 1-0 Pens.

Pitt needs to steal this game!

Detroit up 2-1 now. I have little hope for the Pens in this series....

It's amazing the amount of chances Pitt has blown right in front of the net.

It only takes the wings 1 period to completely turn the game around. :idunno:
