Taking Htler out would have been the thing to do if the German Generals did not arrest him. Some German Generals were ready to arrest him if he invaded Czechoslovakia, but the British and French gave in to him at Munich.

 

Yes dealing with the Japanese was still another matter. If we only dealing with the Japanese it still may have led to war, but a smaller, less costly situation, as we could have turned our full might on them.

 

 

It is true that the General Staff of the German High Command, in general, was never terribly fond of him. Is it any surprise that they were the ones who tried to have him killed?

 

The Japanese would still have been a major problem "full might" or not. Simply because of the ridiculously difficult logistics of prosecuting a war over such vast distances of ocean. Additionally there is no evidence that our fleet still wouldn't have been caught with its pants down at Pearl Harbor anyway. The only thing that would have made much difference was a larger fleet presence as we would have had no need to take on the U-Boats. It would have been a carrier war as before, and the air power we used in Europe would have been of little value without sufficient forward airfields on hand.

The six party talks would be the starting point. Putting pressure on China to stop NK is our best bet. That failing, the next launch attempt should be stopped with a cruise missile. When Russia invaded Georgia the world did nothing except protest, so I would expect nothing different. The rest of the world is not going to war over the nut leader in NK.

 

 

 

I actually agree with the bolded. I am still not on board with the "China is evil and is trying to destroy the world" mentality that some on here express. China is slowly but surely abandoning its unique form of communism in favor of a more capitalistic society. Is it any surprise that their economy has grown by leaps and bounds in the last 10 years? Like it or not the fact of the matter is that China will be the next great power and I think it would behoove us to befriend them and mentor them the way the British did with us when their time as a superpower was over.

Nothing will be done because the UN is scared of The USSR and Red China.

On the fight with the Japanese there are so many what ifs, we could go on forever. I do believe we would have prevailed.

 

In dealing with the Chinese, I too believe they are leaving behind the days of Mao. And it is for this reason I beleive when confronted they will be willing to work out deals and not endanger thier new found wealth. But if you allow them they will push anyone and everyone around very hard.
