In the region it looks like Highlands and Boone Co. will be the biggest competition for Holmes.

In the state some of the best teams next year IMO will be:

Scott Co.

Lou. Eastern

J'town

Clark Co.

Ballard

LexCath

Tates Creek

All systems aren't the same, so we can't really speak on what the coaching staff believes in doing. I am just stating what was mentioned in the article as far as the sophomores starting at other programs. If you don't know the players I am talking about, then you aren't familiar with their program. It really doesn't matter, next year as Juniors, they will make themselves known.

How about Montgomery and Brown as the sophs you are speaking of and at what top level program or what system does the best players not play?

Have you ever heard of politics at the high school level?

I'm certainly not suggesting that is the case here, but you are blind if you think the best players always play no matter what program it is.

Politics is an easy way out as an excuse when kids don't play. Coaches want to compete and have a chance to win games and the best way to do that is to play your best players.

This is the best high school team to EVER come out of the 9th region. With that being said, they can still have a mental lapse here and there and next year the only team who can beat Holmes if they were to not bring it in a game would be Highlands. They have 5 starters returning and can match Holmes's size with Grubbs (6'5") Stewart (6'5") Watson and Dill (both about 6'3"-6'4") and Towles is growing like a weed and he's about 6'4" now. If they can slow the game down and get Ricardo and Elijah in foul trouble, beating Holmes wouldnt be a longshot.
