United States 9 Netherlands 3

There was a few interesting moments in the 8th when the Netherlands hit a home run and showed the pitcher up. The next pitch was 2' behind the batter. They managed to keep it under control, but it was interesting.

"I thought he took a little bit too long watching it," Lindstrom said.

When Lindstrom barely missed hitting Rooi, Dutch players took several steps onto the field as they yelled angrily at the pitcher. The shouting was in English, said Netherlands catcher Sidney de Jong.

"When you yell stuff like that, you want somebody to hear you," he said. "We had no doubt that was intentional."

"Classless," Dutch manager Rod Delmonico said.

The United States plays the loser of Puerto Rico/Venezuela on Tuesday night. If they win, they advance to the semifinals of the tournament. If they lose, they go home.

Unfortunately, Ted Lilly is starting to the Americans.

My son and I watched it last night. I called Dunner's shot. I said "if this guy serves one up knee high, Dunn is going out the front door". Next pitch, johnson right out the front door. He said "how'd you know that?"

I acted like I had some sort of genius. I'm glad he doesn't recall the 46,000 times I've called a Dunn shot and been wrong.

That was a monster shot, though. He crushed it.

Classless is standing at home plate admiring your homerun while you're down 6 runs late.

Class is throwing at the guys butt. My hat is off to Lindstrom.

Absolutely correct. It would have been classless for Lindstrom not to throw at him.

I find it interesting that Dunner is good enough to start for the US team but not good enough to start for the Reds who does not have a LFer or a power hitter.

Someone from Venezueala just hit a 450' home run and the umpires called it a triple. They are going to the replay which shows the ball hit in row 25 of the outfield seats. I'm not sure how they missed that one?

Dunn & the Reds both needed a fresh start.
