March 13, 200917 yr Author RP please excuse me to expand on your thread?? This post makes me want to ask this question?? Why? Why is it that some people are incapable of liking other teams? How is it that some people can have a true hate/dislike of another team? I can see not liking a coach, player, etc. The other makes no sense to me. This is probably a good question for RP since he is a self admitted hater of UK. My hatred for UK really stemmed from my dealings with my roommate in college, he was a supremely obnoxious UK fan...they also won two titles during that time (one beating Duke along the way), and Duke wasn't really all that strong for some of it either. That said, after coming home from Western, UK fans that I dealt with most seemed to chide me a lot more than any other fan. I am sure that comes from living in KY, but I can't really change my feelings at this point.
March 13, 200917 yr I actually feel disliking a program is better than disliking a player. For instance, I root for Duke against North Carolina with passion. Players come and go but since the 70s I have disliked Carolina. I liked Coach Smith and most of his players but the program is competitive with UK, they beat us regularly and I just don't want them to win anything against anybody. Rasheed Wallace is a player who stands out that I disliked but otherwise the NC program is what I don't like. It is sort of like two bullies in a bar who seek each other out I guess and fight for no particular reason.

The media slurps over them constantly and it is unreal the amount of coverage they get for how over-rated they are every other year. Numerous Final Fours, and National Championships in the last 17 years dis-credit your argument a little.

March 13, 200917 yr Author I watch almost every game that U of L and UK play for different reasons. I obviously root for Louisville, except for if they were to play Duke, though I am 0-1 in that regard (ironically that is the first game that I ever rooted for Duke)....UK on the other hand.....
