I know that, but the school system can lobby to get out of the region. This kind of move would have to be made by the Board of Ed. It probably will not happen, but it makes sense for all involved.

Why does everyone think this district seems to remain week every year ? Is it personnel, coaching ?? Central has won ever year from '91 ~ '09 (except '95).

Central has certainly had the best personnel over their span of championships. It's going to be very difficult for Berea and Model to ever compete with having such a small number of athletes to choose from compared to Central. This district should be more open next year with Central losing 7 seniors and Southern having everyone back.

 

There have been rumors of a North Madison HS opening in the future, we may have to wait until then for there to be true competition in this district.

What he said about Madison North is true. It is planned to be located in the White Hall area. I dont' know when they'll start building it though.

Central has 1700 students Southern has 1000 thats just the way it is. In the city of Berea they have about 9000 people and have 2 high schools within a mile of each other. Richmond on the other hand has over 30,000 people and has MC and Model which has about 25 in its graduating class. MC is one of the better programs in the region, plus MC and MS have drawn one another 10 of the last 14 years.
