Please explain?????

 

The BC AD stopped the MC students from using the white board that has become their signature because it was a "silent" artificial noise maker (?) - and artificial noise makers aren't allowed. I like seeing the BC students dressed and cheering, don't know why they had to stop MC from their form of crowd participation. Just wondering if GRC and Paris were allowed to cheer and if the restrictions will be in force on Thursday, or was that only because MC was playing BC.

I have no problems with the white boards.....unless....they write personal messages and attack certain players of the opposing team. This has happened to some of our players and it is uncalled for. Cheer for your team and let them prove it on the court. You may want to check into what was being written on the white boards.

I agree with you - it is not necessary to attack players - written or verbal and unfortunately some student sections have taken to making fun of a player's appearance by creating chants and posters. Posters and cheers are a part of spirit - a white board shouldn't be prohibited any more than a poster board would be.

Also, I was just curious if the same rules will apply when both schools playing on Thursday are "visitors" to the school. Will the administration care as much when it is not the home team playing?

Agree, but as I stated eariler....depends what is said on the poster and white boards. I have seen posters taken down because they were inappropriate.

I sure hope so....they are hosting the tourney.

As I said in a previous thread this year, I do not care what is said, yelled, or written but student sections should not be allowed to phsically interfere with out-of-bounds players. Where was BC administartion when, according to a BC student, he was warned by a referee to back up or get removed from the gym. I did not see this warning, but I have no reason to believe this student would lie. Loud, obnoxious student sections are part of sports. Physically interfering is not.

This should be a good game. GRC played a little lethargic in the Paris game. I hope to see the real Clark Co. team against Montgomery. I predict Clark by 12.

No vulgar words/slang. Maybe it was the way I was coached, but I was told if I was paying attention to anyone other than him (the coach), then I could come and sit beside him so that I could watch the crowd better. I could hear my coach above the loudest crowds and that included some very loud crowds at Mt. Sterling High School. As Coach said, "It is a matter of focus!" And if they move on to the next level, high school will be nothing compared to what they will get from opposing teams student sections in college.

I am sure that most of the players don't pay attention to it....that is not the point. As a fan I feel it is a show of poor sportsmanship on the school that is displaying this type of behavior. I agree in college they will face all types of things, but we are not talking college here, we are talking about high school.
