How many points did Gayhart have?

Walton's current point guard is making too many turnovers.

I agree that Gayheart is a good defender, but Walton's starting point guard is making too many turnovers in a lot of games.

How many points did Gayhart have?

 

I believe she had 16 and Dixon led WV with 11.

Remember, Walton's starting point guard is not a true point guard and has been put into this position because of lack of other options. She is doing okay and has improved at this position since the beginning of the year. I think she is the best option because she is stronger and quicker than the other guards. Molly's going to be a nice player but she is not physically strong enough and lacks the speed that is needed to be a varsity point guard. I see her more as a 2 guard. She is a good spot shooter but lacks the ability to penetrate and dish. I think the point guard of the future for Walton is the 7th grader. She is a true point guard and she will only make the other's around her better.

Owen is not an easy place to win. I think all the teams in the NCKC are capable of beating anyone on any night. It has been a wild season for that league.!

I'll preface my comments first by saying that having Coach Miller and Coach Trame has been a blessing after last seasons debacle. As far as the point guard position goes....Molly Clinkenbeard has played the point guard position her entire life. With no disrespect to whomever is playing that position now, Molly would be the better option. The point guards responsibility is to get the team into their offense and to take care of the basketball. IMO, having Molly hand the ball off to someone and then to watch them turn it over or make bad decisions with the ball is not taking advantage of Molly's talent nor is it giving your team the best option to win. The cream always rises to the top, maybe that will be the case in this situation as well. Good luck Lady Cats.

In regards to the point gard thing. IMO I think that Ginn is doing a very good job at point. She gets the team into their offenses great! Clinkenbeard is a good ball handler and will be a fine option at the PG position in years to come but she is not strong enough to be a varsity PG. Ginn does make a lot of unforced turnovers, but as does everyone on that team. Also as you all no Dixon is the stud of the team, always leading in points, but most of her points come from assists from Ginn. If your big men are scoring in double figures every game, you have to give the point gaurd some credit!
