Just wondering if anyone has good middle school players on the way that could play high school in the near future.

Gallatin County 8th grader Kristian Morgan already starts JV and plays quality minutes on the varsity team. Also, the AAU team he plays with, the NKY Wolfpack, won the 1st 14u winter session tourney at SOAS.

Shelby Valley has a 6'8" 7th grader in it's feeder system at Dorton that could be a pretty nice player in 2 or 3 years...

WOW! That would be a kid to keep an eye on.

Wasn't there a 6'8" kid that played for Saudi Arabia in the Little League World Series as well? I think he was a 7th grader as well! Sorta random but I just thought of that.

Take a look at kyelitebasketball.com. This will be one of the best 7th & 8th grade AAU teams. Many of these players are playing up in either freshman, JV or Varsity. The kid from Dorton is on both teams.

Like most young big men Cody needs to add weight and strength, but he has good hands and nice skills around the basket. He put up big numbers in junior high this season with numerous triple doubles.

Agreed.

But then again with his size I hope he is able to put up those kinds of stats with the size of the kids he is playing against. Some of them probably haven't even hit their growth spurt!

Where can I find the results for this tournament or any of the tournaments at SOAS?

Agreed.

I'd say it depends on if he can hit free throws.

What is in the water for these kids from Dorton, It seems that they always have a kid with extraodinary size at such a young age. Do you see him as being a great player. Or is he great because of his size at this point. I know he is young... just wondering how he will be able to grow as a player.

I've heard about him, any good??? Does he get anything done when he is in the game?

Cody has the offensive skills to be a very good player. He has good hands and touch, and has good back to the basket moves. Continuing to gain strength and mobility will determine how good of a player he will become. It's so hard to project big men a young age, but some in our area think Cody is a D1 type player. Personally, I think it's way to early to tell. Continuing to improve your game and physical tools is what makes good players great. Cody has to look no further than former Dorton player Elisha Justice to see that.
