We have major problems - Obamas stimulus plan is not for everyone

Featured Replies

Essentially it says that using Japan as a benchmark or as an example is not smart. Conditions are not the same.

Are they? I'm not that smart to answer that one.

Maybe we should post this question in TD's thread for smart people. Maybe they know.:lol::D

Honestly, when I read that I was dumbfounded. How could it not? I am not smart enough to answer it either.

Maybe Habib will have an opinion?

You mean, WE'RE allowed to read that thread too?

You mean the severly parsed audio/video with commentary added. It took me about 5 minutes max to find the entire interview and to realize what he was saying and it wasn't close to the implied message from the video.
I'll tell you this, Obama's so called "stimulus plan" isn't going to do a darn thing to stimulate the economy. Did you read that thing?

I can't say I'm intimately familiar with it just yet. I figured I'd wait until the changes get made by the Senate and it comes back to the House.

We can't be surprised though that the Dems in the House have loaded it up.

Very true. :thumb:

I'm waiting to see if Obama will strike these pet projects down, if he wants to prove he wants to change Washington, it would be a nice start.

Okay is my understanding correct in that this stimulus bill has 800Billion dollars spent and 100 Million on infrastructure?

Was watching Lou Dobbs and he said by the strictest accounting $81 B of the 900 billion.

By the loosest accounting, $150 Billion of the $900 billion.

Seems this infrastructure bill to jump start the economy doesn't have much infrastructure in it.

And just for the record, this seems to be the exact type of bill that candidate John McCain said he would veto and send back to Congress with the loaded pork in it.

Where will all this money come from?

Interesting article. Sounds like President Obama is letting the process work through both the House and Senate before he gets too involved. You can see that everyone has their cause du jour and Republicans wanted tax cuts.

My guess is this the first of many interations before we see the final proposal.
