If Rico doesn't sit out the whole second quarter in foul trouble, Holmes wins this one by 15+. Only thing that kept Largo in the game was their offensive rebounding. They killed Holmes on the boards in the first half and had a 23-14 advantage going in to the locker room.

Second half, Holmes picked up the defense and rebounding and took control on the game.

Pittman finished with 6 blocks.

Largo was a quality team. If they were in KY they would be a top 20 if not top 10 team in the state. Quickness reminded me alot of Ballard.

R. Johnson is a basketball player flat out. I thought Holmes played lazy until midway through the 3rd. I'm sure Henley is happy with the win, but not the effort.

Housley was very tough. His 4th quarter rejection of the shot off the driving spin move was the back breaker. If Housley had stayed at Newport, they might well be the 2nd best team in the region this year. Excellent win for Holmes. Riley is super smooth.

Holmes lucky to pull this one out. Got out hustled for most of the game, but seemed to pick it up in the 2nd qt.

I wouldn't say they got outhustled. Largo pressed the WHOLE game which might have made it seem like that. Second quarter was the only time I thought they looked bad, which again, had a lot to do with Rico sitting out the whole quarter due to foul trouble.

I will say this...they got killed on the boards today. Looked better in the second half, but as someone else said, WAY too much standing around when shots go up.

Largo would be a top 15 team in KY. Their athleticism, quickness, and ability to attack the rim would give a lot of teams problems. They remind me of Ballard only with a lot more size.

The bolded = out hustled.

True...I just don't think they were outhustled the whole game...just in spurts.

Largo had a lot of depth and size too which played a factor in the game. I counted 12 different players that saw the floor for them.

Their PG #33 that ran the point a lot is a big boy. He'd be an offensive lineman for a lot of teams in NKY. I think they said he's listed at 6'4 245.

I agree Largo was a good team with a lot of size. Holmes was clearly the better team and when they choose to turn it on they took the game. But I'm willing to bet anything Henley isn't pleased with the effort on defense. In the second half they turned it on. They started giving more effort. In the first half it was way to much standing under the basket when the shot went up. There is no question who makes this team go. Rico does everything for Holmes. It clearly hurt when he went to the bench. His presence in the 2nd half was the difference in the game.
