Qryche11
Found the BoxScore. Looks like Stephen K got his share of touches as he pours in 21 for the Birds. Good to see Ben Watson get back on track with double figures in scoring as well. Highlands 10 17 20 4 51 Campbell Co. 10 13 20 6 49 Kenton Co. Invitational First round at Dixie Heights Highlands (12-4) -- Gordon 4, Kowolonek 21, Keller 4, Watson 12, Dill 4, Groty 4, Grubbs 2. Campbell Co. (12-5) -- Jolly 7, Nerl 13, Geiman 3, Albrecht 8, B. DaPlaya711
Campbell jumps out early in the first quarter 8-4 and then Highlands begins to convert on the offensive end with the quarter ending at 10 apiece. Second quarter both teams more productive offensively. Stephen K. put up a lot of points this quarter as Highlands jump out early by 4 or 6 points then Campbell goes on a run to keep it at a Bluebird 27-23 halftime advantage. 3rd quarter starts and Highlands makes a dominant run, 8 unanswered I believe, to push it out to a 12 point lead with 4 minutes left in the third. Then Campbell goes on a run to close the gap to 4 going into the 4th. Both teams have trouble finding the bottom of the net as the two teams combined for 12 points in the 4th. Timely turnovers made by both teams this quarter and neither team can take advantage of them. Highlands misses back to back one and one opportunities when up two but Campbell can't take advantage. Campbell has the ball with 10 seconds remaining down two and gets three shots up before the final buzzer sounds well within 10 feet. Extremely physical game and some questionable calls at both ends of the floor to say the least. Stephen K. had 21 going into the 4th. This game could have been much different if either team could convert on the others mistakes.
cchs_camel_1
10th is top heavy with GRC, Scott, Mason Co, and Campbell Co. 9th has more quality teams top to bottom. Only way Scott and CC meet up again is region tournament I think. District Finals. They're on opposite sides of the bracket. Campbell plays Brossart and Scott plays the winner of Calvary and Silver Grove. Scott takes over Campbell's District top seeding from last year.
AirYardGo
Where is the 37th being played this year?
bjim
It was a pretty physical game. Especially the 4th quater, neither team could buy a basket. Again the Camels lose by 2 for the 3rd time in a row. They have proven they can play with any team in nky, when are they gonna pull out the win! Not a bad game just couldn't get over the hump! Is Campbell out of the tournament or do they play again? If so, who do they play?[/quote] They play GRC on Thursday. Should be a fun game to watch. Go and watch Future Wildcat Vinny Zollo. Hopefully this Future Wildcat has a little better showing vs. a Northern Kentucky team then his fellow signee Euton did.:sssh:
