Conner’s junior point guard, Devin Beasley, will have season ending shoulder surgery on Tuesday. Devin has been playing through pain all season. Before the season began her doctor did not want her to play, but she opted to wear the shoulder harness to see if she could tough it out. If you know Devin, you know she loves the game with all her heart and didn’t want to let her team down.

 

Devin played her final game of the season on Saturday against Clay Co. She helped jump start the Lady Cougars in the second half with a nice move on the base line and smooth jumper. The Lady Cougars will certainly miss her ball handling, defense, hustle, scoring, passing, energy, and toughness.

 

Devin is the ultimate team player. She is unselfish and cares more about the team victory than her own scoring. We wish her well and a speedy recovery so that she will be ready to lead the Lady Cougars her senior season.

Devin we will be praying that your surgery is tremendously successful and look forward to seeing you back on the court soon. Battling it out with Conner won't be the same without you there.

While injuries are a part of the game, that's little consolation. And as hard as it is on the player, moms and dads suffer too. I'm glad she's not a senior, but it doesn't change how sorry we all are for Devon and her family.

I hate to hear that about anybody Godspeed on a full recovery.
