thsrocks
The OHSAA voted not to split their largest division in football. Ohio counts boys in 10-12 grades only. The school with the largest number of boys is Fairfield with 1246! The smallest Div 1 school has 528 boys. The kicker in this proposal was to cut the number of playoff teams to 4 per region for Div 1A and Div 1B and the coaches didn't like that idea. It may have passed if they had allowed 8 teams per region and truly went to a 7 class set up. 1246 boys in upper three grades, and the Kentucky educators think this large of a school wouldn't work here. Ohio has 115 teams in their top division for football.

RowdyRedRam
The highest in KY for 6A is 1436, in Ohio terms that would be about 1077 and the smallest (700) would be about 525. Just for comparison.
