formerkywrestler
Link. Two comments. One, he has enough unreleased stuff out there to go on for awhile. Two, I am SO glad I bought tickets for the Louisville show last night.

Mack The Knife
Is it bad if I have absolutely no idea who Ryan Adams is? Just do not let Jim Schue aware of it.
Habib
Love his music but he's always been impetuous. Wouldn't be surprised to see this as more of a small hiatus.
covcathftball
Is it bad if I have absolutely no idea who Ryan Adams is? Yeah same here. Can anyone describe what kind of music it is?
Jim Schue
Is it bad if I have absolutely no idea who Ryan Adams is? Yes. He's only the best singer-songwriter out today. Stop listening to the dreck on commercial radio. Yeah same here. Can anyone describe what kind of music it is? Singer/songwriter stuff — a mix of folk, rock and country. Too all over the map to make it into commercial radio's narrow playlists.

I'm of the same mind on this one. But even if he does hang it up for good, I feel fortunate to have seen him in concert a few times. While it would be a good thing for the awful pop-country genre, he's too unbalanced and creative to quit altogether, and would probably "retire" to just being a songwriter for others. A few of his tunes have already been recorded by pop-country artists, such as the hack job Tim McGraw did on "Stars Go Blue."

formerkywrestler
If you haven't heard of him...you seriously owe it to yourself to give an album a fighting chance. One of the top 5 songwriters alive today. He has a lot of problems, but an AMAZING talent.
halfback20
I tried to listen to a few of his songs...and I couldn't finish any of them. Not my style.
formerkywrestler
I tried to listen to a few of his songs...and I couldn't finish any of them. Not my style.Honestly, the very first time I listened to him (somewhere around he was forced upon me. I didn't like it much. A little while later, I was bored, stumbled upon a cd of his that my friend gave me, put it in, and as they say the rest is history...I fell in love once I gave it a chance (not saying you didn't, just telling my story...). A lot of times I have to have things come to me on their own. There have been several artists that this has happened to me with. I like to give most things a few chances.
