Congrats to the Royals. Coach Biggs had better get things turned around quick. Coach Bush has to be the early favorite for Coach of the Year IMO.

Both Bushes, Gambill, Malloy and Gregg all logged minutes last season. But you're right, lost the starting five and will vie for the top spot in the district. Good job Royals!:thumb:

Rose Hill lost 11 of its players from last year- 2 to graduation and the others to various "relocations". They are extremely young and will have their best teams in the next few years. Playing well this season is actually a bonus.

 

Someone posted that Ashland's guards didn't play well. DeLaney was held to 6 shots from the field and only hit 1 of them. The reason was that Johnny Bush almost completely shut him down. If the game awarded an MVP, it would have gone to Bush.

Shew, just got in from saltin' down the driveway. If Mrs. King slips and breaks a hip, I might as well take my pillow to the doghouse when she recuperates.

 

Got to listen to the game on the radio. Sounded like those young Royals did a number on the Tomcats. Sounded like the Heisman winner got Mr. Delaney in the clench and wouldn't let go. Tough to land a punch when you can't get some space. The post game fella said that the crowd wasn't much into the game, said that the Rose Hill folk expected to win and the Ashland folk were simply stunned. Short of flooding the pool again, I don't think there was much that could have stopped the Royals this evening.

 

So, the outcome simply begs the question, and I simply have to ask,,,,is this the second most embarassing moment in Ashland history?

I meant to say 3 played significant minutes last year. Kyle Bush played very limited time as a 8th grader(2-3minutes) and Corey Gregg if he got in it was he last minute of the game

Scott Gambill makes a 3 pointer right before the half buzzer sounds for half time, Scott of course thinks he has it we start cheering for him but no, the basket they say doesn't count, but one ref counts it the other overules him and says no. Whichever official was the white headed one is the one who over-ruled it and said no basket. An absolutley horibble call. And there wasn't any excuse for it because they have a buzzer that goes off when the half ends so all he had to do was watch the player to see if the ball had been released. No really explanation for it.

The shot was clearly as good as was Skagg's game-ending 3 pointer. Stange thing is the latter counted and the former didn't. I guess that must be a part of the homecourt advantage over there.
