Corbin was playing pretty good (bench and all) and that was bad for Jackson County.

Corbin is playing like a well-oiled machine right now.

Josh Smith had 18 points in the first half and finished with a game-high 23 points. 12 different players scored for Corbin. When Josh Crawford only scores four points and your team wins by 66, you're a good team.

Caleb Watkins had seven points off the bench and Luke Stewart added 10.

Jackson County shot a dismal 12-of-59 and Corbin hit its first seven shots (four of them were three-pointers) and never looked back.

Good win for the Redhounds.

By the way, Josh Crawford is the most unslefish player I've seen and he's a great kid, too. Heck, all of the Corbin kids are good kids.

Could agree more about the Corbin kids.:thumb:

I believe this is Caleb's first game since injuring his ankle during football season. I could see Caleb working his way into some real playing time before the year is out.

Me, too.

And, the strong only gets stronger.

Corbin has a good chance to make some noise this year.

Wow! Corbin is on fire right now.

I agree that Crawford is one of the most unselfish players I've seen. It's not that he couldn't take more shots and score a lot of points, he just doesn't choose to do so.

If Corbin continues to improve, they can be VERY dangerous!!!

I would say that Corbin is very dangerous now and has the potential to be very lethal.

I agree.

If they keep playing defense and team ball on offense. I don't see any team in the region beating them.

This was clearly a match up of David vs. Goliath. Tonight, David didn't have his slingshot as the story in the good book goes. Hats off to the Generals though. Although outmatched, and virtually having no chance, these kids never gave up. Corbin is just on another level. When Corbin is on, you may find 4 or 5 teams that can challenge them in the state. Jackson County is breaking in a new staff and a new rotation. Brighter days will be ahead for them. I remember Coach Truitt when he played and I have no doubt he'll have Jackson contending for the 49th in short time. Although they were never a powerhouse, Keith Hays was a fine coach. Truitt learned from him.

Tonight was a fun game to watch if you were from Corbin. As stated earlier, when arguably the best player in the region scores 4 points and plays limited minutes and you win by 66 which easily could have been more, you have a dangerous ball club. I was impressed with Josh Smith. He was like Jodie Meeks tonight and the rim had to look like tossing ping pong balls into a swimming pool. You know what you are getting from the starters. The bench impressed me. Blake Hendrickson and Luke Stewart played excellent off the bench as did Caleb Watkins. I think Watkins can bring that football toughness to the Hounds as Brad Lawson and Clint Cashen did in the past. He'll be able to rough people up and overpower folks once he gets into the swing of things. The Hopkins kid is another player that will be a force before it's all said and done. He has the size of Crawford and touch of Johnson. Unfortunately, experience trumps all of that. His time is coming though. Look out for him.

Wow I knew that Jackson C was a senior dominated team last year. Do they not have any returning starters back?

Who was the little guy for Jackson Co.? He looked like he was very young. I know he won the hearts of the people around me.

Jackson had no chance, but showed tremendous courage and class by never laying down. Good win for the Hounds and hats off to the Generals for playing basketball and not paying attention to the score.
