I heard the Birds were up most of the game and squandered the lead in the 4th qtr only to have Grote nail the big 3pter with 4 ticks left.

 

Grote had 6 three pointers in this game. If they can get him to stay consistent it will give the Birds a nice 1-2 scoring punch with Kowolonek.

I agree. I've said since last year that Grote was probably the most underrated player in the region. The kid can flat out play when he's focused. He always plays hard and never takes a play off offensively or defensively.

How big of a gap is there between Highlands and Boone, Cov-Holmes? I assume that Highlands is the 3rd best team in the 9th.

Holmes is hands down the best team in the region but honestly I think Highlands will give Holmes a better game than Boone. Highlands is a very fundamental team and plays very good defense. They also have much more depth than Boone which could be a factor against a team like Holmes who only goes 8 deep. Boone is more consistent than Highlands though, hence their #2 ranking.

 

I'd say at this point there's a considerable gap between Holmes and the rest of the 9th but IMO if anyone is going to knock them off, it'd be Highlands. Boone will try to run with Holmes which is never good.

I agree. Highlands physical style of play will cause problems for Boone. And Highlands has the size to compete with teams like Boone and Holmes.
