Agree. But no one will be handing it to them, and I don't see them as unbeatable. There are several teams in the 9th that will more than play with them.

Why would CovCath "have to be the favorite"? Just trying to understand your reasoning when NCC returns their core just as CovCath and NCC came out on top last year. Just curious I know anything can happen and predicting winners is just like being a weather man!!!!!

Oops, I miss communicated. Connor has the bragging rights because he was the winning pitcher in the regional championship. Isler shut NCC down in a run rule game. Believe his velocity and location made this possible. Also he integrated his changeup in, with good location, to keep NCC batters off balance. I do agree all are good players and that hitting spots is the key, but it is sure nice to be able to bring the heat. Going to be a great baseball season.

Cov Cath beat NCC two out of three. NCC won the the big game.

They HAVE to be the favorite because they destroyed New Cath twice in the regular season, they return their Maile, Isler, Darner, Nutini, Lafever, Holocher, Krumme, etc., and have made it to the regional final 2 years straight with most of the players. They always say 3rd times a charm and I believe it this year. Not trying to take anything away from Connor but I believe that was the game of his life and the Colonels still ended up with 4 runs. If Isler or Nutini pitches in that game I believe it's a MUCH different game. Isler earlier in the year was untouchable for NewCath. Niehaus had one of the worst games of his career that night. If you're basing it off one bad game then you might as well say Bellevue is #2 in the region behind New Cath. I do believe they beat CovCath on easily their worst game of the year. You just cannot place a team in 1st due to a single game. Sure they have a great team but not one of the experience and talent that CovCath has.

Honestly, and this is NO disrespect to Connor. I like him as a ball player. He is a good high school pitcher, but I don't see it happening on the next level for pitching. From multiple scouts, Smith and Isler are at the top. I honestly don't know who is below that, because that is all that was said and discussed. I think Nutini is a solid pitcher at this level as well, obviously his strength is the outfield, but he is def. a solid pitcher for CovCath. Isler is a hard thrower, but he has very little "stuff" to go with it for the past 2 years because of his injury/arm surgery. In the off season he has been working on that I hear. I like Smith's frame, he has the potential to grow with it, because he is tall and lanky, could put muscle on.

He has nice velocity but his ball has no movement and he throws right down the plate each time. If you are basing that statement off of size, I guarantee you can find other pitchers in the 9th region who are alot stronger, and around the same height.
