What is Menke averaging this year? You think if she could have done this kind of scoring or somewhere in the ball park the past 2 years while the big 3 were there they might have walked away with at least one region title?

There wasn't that many spare points left after the big 3 did thier scoring. That's not the reason they didn't win the region, IMO.

Lady Royals shot 14% in the first half and dug themselves a huge hole. Played better the second half. Menke with a double-double.

After 13 games, Menke is at 17.2 per.

 

The problem is, finding a consistent second and even third scorer. But their defensive intensity is, IMO, the best MC has had in years.

Nice article in the Winchester Sun today:

 

Whitney Henry had nine points in the first half, but did most of her scoring in the third frame. Henry tallied 11 points in the quarter, sinking a 3-pointer and hitting four clutch field goals.Jewel Rogers followed Henry with 15 points and Preshia Rogers chipped in with 10.

 

The Lady Cards (7-4) seized control early and never trailed. Clark led by nine at 17-8 in the first quarter, before Mason rallied and narrowed the margin to 19-14 on a 3-pointer by Keller Menke.

From then on, it was all Clark.

The Lady Cards outscored Mason 21-3 in the last six minutes of the half for a commanding 40-17 advantage at the break.

Yeah, spare points was not the reason MC did not win a regional title in the last 3 to 4 years!

Menke has problems when she isn't the go to guy on the team. If she would of showed up last year and did anything close to what she is doing this year they would of been playin in Diddle.

You cannot say that scoring is the reason they didn't go to diddle. It was DEFENSE!!! Are you kidding me? How can you graduate 7500 points in 3 players and say if one more person had scored we would have played in diddle? Menke is doing a great job this year, she is taking her role and doing what she needs to do. Keep it up Keller.
