Harrison Co. support for players has been dwindling for a few years. But, this year it has really dropped off... Part of it is the inconsistent play of players and just face it, EVERYONE loves a WINNER. Don't expect fans to come out in droves!! Heck, they're too busy tearing apart instead of building people up!

 

The community as a whole doesn't support basketball either. You should see the facilities that the recreation department uses for youth basketball. What a shame! Shame, Shame, Shame... And I have a young child that will get to use those facilities. I just hope the future of basketball gets better!! Enough said!!

 

Someone at the Rec. Department should be in contact with the Middle School so that the children can use the gym at HCMS instead of having to use City Hall. Let the Church Leagues and Independent leagues use City Hall. Heck the youth leagues could even play at Southside.

Don't know how they got to be as good as they are from the apparent lack of practice facilites, but Harrison County's 8th grade team this past year is one of the best in the region. Did they play together at a younger age in AAU outside of Cynthiana?

I think that group has been playing some AAU ball, but I am not sure under which team name.

This is the first group that started playing against other counties best players. They've not sanctioned in AAU, but they should. Started in the 4th grade and they've worked their butts off. Group is fundamentally sound due to good coaching in 4th thru 6th grades. Harrison should have good players in the grades behind them as well. Should be an interesting future. Success will be determined by how much time they devote to basketball in a baseball school...
