December 19, 200817 yr Alright, I have overcame all the odds and made it to the league championship game. I've made it this far, so I might as well try to win... Here is what I currently have and I need to figure out how to maximize my points (my locks to start are in bold, the others I am unsure about): QB - Phllip Rivers RB - Steve Slaton (@OAK) RB - Le'Ron McClain R/W - Warrick Dunn WR - Wes Welker (ARZ) WR - Deven Hester (GB) - Mason? TE - John Carlson (NYJ) PK - Neil Rackers (@NE) - should I seek a better FA matchup? DST - Eagles (@WAS) - Eagles or Bears for me? Bench: RB - Frank Gore (@STL) - has not practiced all week RB - Brandon Jacobs (CAR) - limited participant in Thursday's practice WR - Derrick Mason (@DAL) - start him instead of Hester? WR - Santonio Holmes (@TEN) - bad matchup DST - Chicago (GB) - Bears or Eagles for me?
December 19, 200817 yr McClain would probably be my 2nd back there unless somebody like D. Foster is on the wire(we can't pick up becasue of the Thurs night game). Ray Rice is out I think and Magahee has been awful. I will be shocked if B. Jacobs doesn't play. To much at stake IMO on that game. WR is tough. They have been doing a little better job getting D Hester involved. Neither are great but you got what you got. D. Branch is still available some places so that might be an option. Northcutt has been hot + went over 100 last night with a score. I could see the Ravens falling behind and having to throw the ball. I'd flip a coin but lean toward Hester probably. Not crazy about either. Kicker is a crap shoot. The Saints should put up a lot of pts this week against the Lions so that kicker will probably be OK. I dropped Crosby and rolled the dice on Bironas hoping he will have a lot of FG opportunities vs the Steelers D. The Bengals held Was offense down so the Eagles should do the same. I think the Bears play Monday night so I love having a team playing that last night. I think it might be the Packers which can put up pts along with NE. You have Hester returning kicks for Chicago though so that is tempting too.
December 19, 200817 yr Author Ok, if I were making a final decision right now - I'd start Jacobs for sure assuming he plays, because he is pretty much always going to get a short TD when they get down around the goal line. My decision would be to start McClain or Dunn? They both typcially get you 8-10 points, but McClain looked awfully tough last week - although he didn't get a TD. There's not necessarily anything available to pickup that is any better than I have. I just need to try to maximize points with what I have. I'm torn between Hester or Mason as WR, as well.
December 19, 200817 yr If everyone was playing, I'd go with Gore and Jacobs...if Gore is out, then McClain. At WR, I'd check Sunday to see what the weather in NE is going to be...they were predicting really bad conditions possibly. If that's the case, I'd probably go with Hester and Mason. If not, then Welker and Hester, IMO.
December 19, 200817 yr Good call on the weather. With Rice out and Magahee stinking I would start McClain if Jacobs is out. Gore is a huge risk IMO I would sit him this week especially if he doesn't practice today. Rotoworld usually has the best injury things up to date. I would see if you can pick up the Texans defense. You are playing 2 really good offenses if the weather isn't bad. Weather is huge this time of season. The Texans have a good matchup and honestly the Bengals played well last week, Cleve hasn't scored a TD in 4 games I think and the weather could be bad there. You have 2 pretty good defenses but they are playing good offenses. I'd go with the worst weather or pick up the Texans.
December 20, 200817 yr Author Hey Stick - New Orleans is still available as a DST in the FA pool. Should I grab them or try my luck in Chicago at home?
December 20, 200817 yr Author Wireman- would you start McClain over Lendel White this weekend? McClain has been getting it done lately and he has became the featured back, which means he'll be getting the carries. The only thing it that White will have a little higher % chance of getting a TD.
December 20, 200817 yr Wireman- would you start McClain over Lendel White this weekend? Yes. LenDale White will be lucky to reach 20 yards against the Steelers. McClain at least has a chance.
December 20, 200817 yr Author I forgot to add the final decision - yes, I would start McClain over White.
December 20, 200817 yr :thumb: Congrats on your season. The only advise I would give is, the Eagles D is playing very well right now and I believe that will continue at Washington.
December 20, 200817 yr Author Here's probably my final decision - WR - Hester or Mason? I need to decide soon because Mason plays against the Cowboys tonight.
December 20, 200817 yr Author ^ Mason would be my choice. You like his matchup with the Cowboys on the road better than Hester at home against the Packers?
December 20, 200817 yr You like his matchup with the Cowboys on the road better than Hester at home against the Packers? It's not an easy call. Mason has 68 catches and Hester has 43. After looking more into these games, I can see a low scoring Boys, Ravens game. So, maybe I lean toward Hester on this one.
