I think the paper said that Channing Fugate from Breathitt had over 3000 for the season. I have not heard of anybody else with that many.

 

Shaun Alexander did at Boone Co. in '94.

 

Jeremy Simpson of Lincoln County in '93.

 

Both of them had over 3,000 on the year. I also believe both ended up winning KY's Mr. Football if memory serves me correct?

Fugate was the state's leading rusher and became only the fifth player in KY High School history to break the 3000 yard mark in a single season.

 

Counting last year's totals, he's probably between 5500 and 6000 yards rushing for his career.

 

Channing also played and had some yards as a Freshman. I don't know how many yards, but I believe it was between 500 and 700 yards.

So, he's probably around 6000 rushing yards for his career...could be a little over or a little under because I'm not sure how many he ended up with last year.

 

I know he had over 2000 total yards last season but I think he had more receiving yards in '07.

I thought Homer and Alexander were two of the 5. I was guessing Jeremy Britt (Lincoln County, Danville) and Scott Russell (Evarts) as the other two.

 

Can anyone tell me how many yards those two had in their best seasons?
