I'm not sure what the process is for them hiring coaches. I was coached by Joe Jaggers all my years there so I was lucky I didn't have to go through that process. But from a personal opinion I wish they would just hire a coach that is capable of turning a program around, doesn't matter if he is young or old.

 

They have a good Coach with Coach Combs he can turn things around imp.

What was coach Combs 2008 record ? How many 0 and 10's has Ft. Knox had in the last few years ? Joe Washington , North Hardin , recently retired . He is the type of coach needed to breathe air in to the Knox program . He was an assistant there during the great years. Next time around , the AD should give him a call. Good luck to coach Combs , I would like to see the program return to respectability.

Government contractors and private non-unit personnel will not be permitted to live on Fort Knox, which is what it takes to send a student to the school. However, there will be two brigades transferring in which will bring a lot of Soldiers living on post and should help.

They hire coaches as teachers first. Then, if they want the coaching job, they can apply for that.

 

And they're "renewed" or let go (at least as coaches) at the end of each school year. At least, this is what I've been told by a former coach who I still keep in contact with on a somewhat regular basis.

Johnny that is correct about renewing their contract each year. Every year Coach Jaggers, or whoever the coach is for whatever sport they were "rehired" every year. I guess they had a one-year contract each year. I would be interested to see which former coach is that you still keep in contact with. I know a lot of the former coaches live, or lived, in the Etown, Larue area after leaving Knox.

Fort Knox will be back on top, it may take a few years but i believe in Coach Combs and his staff will turn it around.

They need to get a bigger staff...they only had 4 total coaches last year and they field a full freshman, JV and varsity schedule. Tough to win with limited coaches like that. Good luck next season!
