McNamee: 'No chance' Clemens gets into Hall

Featured Replies

Will this McNamee guy just shut up already?

"He's done. He's not going to the Hall of Fame," McNamee said in a video interview with Web site sportsimproper.com. "There's no chance. Too much damage. Too much trust was broken. Between the people that gave him his career, the people that wrote about his career, and the people that supported his career."

His latest claim is that Clemens had an infection on his rear end after an injection....

I could go a lot of places with that comment but I'll keep my posting privledges:) This guy is a putz though!

Like him or hate him, he's probably right.

The guy is just looking for some publicity. He's a joke.

Sad but true...Clemens was one of my idols growing up

Not a new claim. He made this allegation - which has been corroborated by other sources - during the Congessional hearings.

McNamee has about as much moral turpitude as does Clemens. Not that anyone really needed to hear him make the statement about Clemens' HOF chances (or cares), but he is probably right. I certainly hope he is anyways. Clemens has no place in the HOF.

350+ wins?

350+ wins?

A liar and a cheat who apparently got some "help" acquiring those wins. He'll get in in time, but they'll be a strong backlash against him initially. Hate to root against him since he was one of my all-time pitching heroes, but he lost all shred of credibility and respect with me.

If the walls of the Hall of Fame could talk, about half the players there would be in the same boat. Why does everyone single out Bonds and Clemens when it was MOST of baseball that was involved.

"Most" of baseball are not legitimate contenders to enter the Hall of Fame. "Most" of baseball did not embarrass the country's greatest sport in front of a national audience. "Most" of baseball did not clearly extend their careers and very obviously benefit from taking drugs that knew where illegal.

Actually, during the Steroid Era, there were many, many players that were cheating. That's no secret.

How many of them are legitimate HOF players? And how many of these players are already in the HOF?

Clemens hurt his chances. Very badly. Maybe not forever, but for a long time.

If Pete isn't in then Roger shouldn't be in.
