Maybe a an up year for Beechwood is a down year for the upper notch teams. I don't see Beechwood winning many games against good teams.

 

Beechwood will compete with the big schools and knock a few off. Trust me. They looked very good against Holmes but eventually just got worn down by Holmes size. They actually have a pretty nice size team as well.

I'm not sure outside of Beautels or however you spell it, and Romes that anything really stood out for me. And Romes did not even have a great game, so assuming he is on maybe they could knock off a few teams. AJ Smith could potentially do some damage down low, but he is kind of clumsy with his body and they haven't figured out how to lob the ball into him yet effectively where he can get to it, cause he has some limited movement with his body.

 

But uh, either way CCH is in a downnnnnnnn year. :thumb:

Not at Cov Cath. Very high expectations year in and year out. Over the past 5 years Cov Cath made the trip to Rupp twice, lost in the Regional finals twice (once in OT) to very, very good Holmes squads and lost the other regional game to Connor at Connor. To even get to the regional tournament Cov Cath had to beat excellent Holy Cross squads in the first round of the '08 and '06 districts.

 

Not alot to base this prediction on but the Cov Cath guard play against Mason Co. was not strong (to be kind). My heart is with the Colonels tonight but my head says Connor by more than a couple.

If they scouted well, they will know to put pressure on CovCath. Too much pressure and the Colonels will fall apart.

Not every team is capable of applying hard pressure on the perimeter.

Look for a big game from Chris Lang. If he gets hot, could be a long night for the Colonels.

The way I see it, any team that applies pressure with decent size guards and has a good big man, CCH will struggle against them.

That would most likely be true but most NKY high school teams don't have big quick guards and there aren't a lot of good big men. As a rule, we're a guard-driven region.
