Russell lead the Raiders with 15 points. After falling behind 27-10 in the first quarter the Raiders actually played pretty well.

Nice comeback effort by Ryle after getting obliterated in the first half (especially first quarter), though the comeback probably had a lot to do with Stenzel not returning. Ryle really didn't have an answer for him the 2 1/2 quarters he played. Clark Cty. sure has some solid shooters. McLeish, Coleman, Russell, and Stauffer were probably the high scorers for Ryle. Ryle turned the ball over too much late, went cold from the field for a stretch and the comeback stalled out. Ryle also missed a fair number of free throws.

 

Not implying that it ultimately affected the final outcome of the game, as Clark Cty. is a better team than Ryle, but the officiating - well, at least one of the officials - was retched. Ryle was probably called for at least 17 or 18 fouls in the second half alone(admittedly 2 or 3 were intentional very late) and almost all were called by the same ref, who also just happened to miss about a half dozen travelling calls by Clark. Again, Clark won because they are better and they played better, but this ref was utterly ridiculous and shouldn't be officiating anything above 6th grade rec ball.

It was 45-32 at the half. Ryle held GRC to 8 points in the 3rd quarter....that is when they came back. Also when Robbie Stenzel got hurt and did not return to the game.

The score was actually 44-27 at halftime and Ryle outscored Clark Co 19 to 9 in the 3rd quarter. Also to Coop's point, Ryle was whistled for 19 fouls in the 2nd half.

Just read through the "updates" thread. Sounds like GRC struggled in the 3rd when Stenzel went out but bounced back nicely in the 4th and had some others step up.

 

Strained ACL. Glad it's not a tear. One is too many - two would just be wrong.

 

Third quarter was rough but the team held it together and pulled away in the forth. I think the fall scared Robbie .He'll be ok.

Good win for the Cards. Ryle is a solid 9th region team.

Heard this morning, Stenzel could be out at least 2 weeks. They will do an MRI to see the extent of the bruise.

Yes and No, we will lose some games we shouldn't have, but in the long run will give other players a chance to step up, which will be valuable come tourney time.

I think that he will be huge this year for Ryle. He is great defender and has some abilities on offense as well.
