How was the J V game. Any stats on that.

Holmes won the JV game I believe 55-49.

Arnold was the only one who really stood out to me in the JV game. McClendon (8th grader) also played well. He is going to be a nice contributor next year at the varsity level. Herndon, #5, #20, and #30 also chipped in throughout the game.

McClendon has a real bright future. Sky is the limit. I wonder if he will start next year or will they move J.J. to the point.

I'd say Pittman and Cardo finished in double figures with Riley, and Arnold had probably 7 or 8.

I'm not saying that you're wrong I just want more specific stats. That's all I'm asking for. You're stats were mostly right except the score at half was 21-28. Also I could have sworn Romas hit a three in the first half.

Holmes looked very scary at certain points in the game just because of how long and athletic they are. Totally agree about Romus getting fustrated with a longer, taller, and quicker defender on him. Most of his points were on fast breaks and what not, but thats his game, he did that well. Beuttel played very well for Beechwood. The kid can flat out shoot the ball. Give him a foot or two of space and he was pulling up tonight, didn't miss too many shots. The big kid for Beechwood (#10) played well I thought. Did a good job containing the boards and protecting the paint. Riley for Holmes played sensational tonight. Didn't miss a shot, handled the ball very well, good passer, and a great defender. Probably one of the best guards if not the best in NKY. Over all, fun game to watch.:thumb:

Who is #10 for BW that you mention?

I said in another thread that Buettel is very good. Not surprised to see him do well tonite.

Herndon will likely be the starting PG next year. McClendon is more of a 2 IMO but Henley may use him some at the point.

Romes hit his three in the 3rd quarter. I remember because I remember at the half I texted someone who had asked about him and told them he only had one point.

AJ Smith. He is a VERY big kid. I'd say he's every bit of 6'7. He was as big as Pittman, if not a little bit bigger.

Did Romes have an older brother play for CovCath a few years ago?

Yes, Michael Romes played at Cov Cath fresman and sophomore year, then transferred to play at Beechwood.

Aj Smith is his name. Was just as tall as Pittman. Very nice inside presence.

His brother was quite a player. I remember the name. Is he playing college ball?

Michael Romus is playing ball at Mount St Joes

Is the younger Romes going anywhere to play college ball?

Beechwood has a 6' 7" kid? Did he play last year? If its Snyder, he has grown quite a bit, but I remember his number being 20 something. Sounds like the Tigers had a nice showing if it was an 8 point game at half. Holmes will only get better as the year goes on. I read all kinds of article about Pittman and the Johnson but apparently they have a nice player in Riley as well. Judging by the posts above, I'll assume he is a Senior. I can't wait until the Bulldogs take on Scott County.

I'd say Beechwood did a good job of getting Ricardo JJ and Pittman in foul trouble. IMO Holmes lacks defensive intensity like they got from Arrez and Avery last season.
