Yea Elijah can get up there. He was measured at a camp as having a 7 foot wingspan. Scary thing is he'll likely get bigger over the next year.

I was impressed with how long Beechwood hung in this game, can't think of many other Division III teams that would be able to make it somewhat of a game against Holmes.

McClendon has a real bright future. Sky is the limit. I wonder if he will start next year or will they move J.J. to the point.

I havent seen McClendon play in over a year but from what I know of him I think he is more of a 2G and plays well around the basket as well so he may even be used as a 3 or 4 also. I dont know how big he is now or how big he is expected to get but with his skills around the basket I do not see him playing PG in the future.

Correct. McClendon is more of a 2G and that's what he starts as in the JV games. He's around 6'1 right now, but not too sure he'll get any taller since his dad is only around 6'1, 6'2. I don't see him being a 4 in the future though. 3 MAYBE, but only if he grows some over the next few years. Still early though since he's only an 8th grader.

Only reason I mentioned 4 was because of his boxing out capabilities. I thought he did this exceptionally well for a 5th/6th grader when I used to watch him play for the TAr Heels. You dont lose that technique and ability to shag balls. With his nice scoring ability I just thought it could be an option. However, with the way HOlmes seems to come up with these 6'7 NBA'ers each year I dont think they will need him down on the blocks. :D

I got a laugh out of that one. They will be pretty big over the next few years though. They have a pretty nice size JV team and with Arnold (6'6 soph) and Baby Gates (6'6 freshman) roaming the paint and likely getting bigger over the next few years, I don't see them needing McClendon much in the paint. :thumb:

The Gates kid (real last name Smith) is projected at being around 6'9 or 6'10 by the time he's a senior.

Did the Beechwood transfer from Campbell Co, Tyler Fangman get any playing time? He is a great kid.
