New Xbox Dashboard

Featured Replies

They came out with the update for it today. It's got alot new features and its very nice. Everything is much more organized once you get the hang of it, you got cool new little avatars which I am yet to figure out the purpose of it is, and you can get Netflix on it. Its a very very nice upgrade.

Sidenote: All the movies that are made by Sony are not on Netflix, because they refused to put their movies on that for Microsoft.

First the avatars are just a friendly change to the new dashboard. You can actually use them to play "avatar games" this update will be out either at the end of the year or at the beginning of 09. Such games include "Are you smarter than a 5th grader" and " 1 vs 100".

With the sidenote, some people at ign said movies by Sony pictures were on Netflix while Columbia Pictures were not. Movies like the Karate Kid, and Superbad.

I have yet to check though.

Do you still use your microsoft points to download movies from netflix? I'm gonna be ticked if the answer is no.

Downloading it now.

How long does it take?

Not long.

It got done about 15 minutes ago, I just now downloaded COD: World at War to my hard drive, and now I don't hear the disc spinning when I play.

I need a 120gb hard drive now, so that I can do that with all of my games.

Good job Microsoft, you gave me another reason to spend money on my xbox in the future.

Not long.

I also need the bigger hard drive. I didn't download the beta, friend of mine did, and he started having problems with his box.

Wasn't there talk back in the day that people would eventually be able to use their X Box as a DVR for their tv shows?

That is going to lose Microsoft some money. I mean all you do is go and rent the game and you can store it to your xbox. Which gives me a good idea. Sportsfan do you wanna borrow my gears:lol:.

You have the wrong idea...

It downloads the game to your hard drive but you still have to have the disc in your xbox to play it. There is an initial spin on the disc to make sure it's a legal copy, after that it doesn't use the disc to play the game but you still have to have it in the tray...

Trust me Microsoft thought about this well before they put this out there.

I'm pretty sure you can do that now, but I believe you have to set it up with your computer or something, not sure.

Hmmm I want to figure this out.

Oh and yea what's the point in downloading the game and playing it from the hard drive? Is it just supposed to play better?

Loads faster, and it is much more quiet. Also less wear and tear on your disc drive.
