Gotta be a Student looking through red and black glasses . DeSales will win this one.

Based on what? HC steam rolled Carroll County and Desales won by 15.

Nasty day to be outside in a mud bowl. Congrats and good luck to HC. Congrats to Carroll seniors as well.

No way. Desales is a very good football team. It will be a good game for about three quarters then Desales' size will start to take it's toll on HC.

If you are counting on size to win out, then you are in for a game because size, strength and power are how Holy Cross plays. This one could be a good old smash mouth, grind it out battle.

From what I've seen I think you have to go with HC over Desales. I saw the HC-CC game and the Desales-CC game. CC couldn't move the ball against HC. I think they got maybe four first downs the whole game. Against Desales, CC moved the ball effectively and it was a good game.

Overall, for the game you hate to see one team lose with Seniors on the squad, but it had to happen to one and hopefully HC can make a run when it counts.

That means nothing at all. DeSales and NCC will meet again in the region championship. DeSales is big, experienced, do everything right, and will just out coach Holy Cross.

Carroll was able to pass the ball against the DeSales because it was a nice field on a dry night. Today was wet, nasty, and the field was horrible. In those weather conditions it is very hard for a team to pass the ball.

Ok.....

That's your opinion, but the facts just don't add up to where Desales is undoubtedly the winner in this one.

Thats a pretty bold statement.

That's your opinion, but the facts just don't add up to where Desales is undoubtedly the winner in this one.

Here are some facts:

Desales: 8-2, losing to a very good Class 5A ball team in Doss. They also lost to Providence, Indiana who made a run in the Indiana state playoffs. They defeated all district teams (Christian Academy of Louisville, Carroll County, and Owen County), beat 4A schools Bullitt East and Fairdale, 5A Waggener, and 6A Southern and 1A school Holy Cross (Louisville) who is also a good team. They have five players with over 300 rushing yards and a total of 2428 rushing yards as a team. They have scored a total of 316 points and have given up only 182.

Compared to Holy Cross, the facts are there to have Desales as the undoubtedly winner in this one.

Holy Cross and their rushing attack must be a lot better because they ran all over Carroll and scored 56. They had 28 after the first.

Alright let's look at HC's schedule. They played 3 six A teams in Ryle, Simon Kenton, and Cooper, 2 five A teams in Holmes and South Laurel, a tough 4 A team in Knox Central, all of their 2A district teams which includes 2A power in New Cath, and lastly 1A power in Beechwood.

That schedule is without a doubt one of the toughest in 2A, don't be fooled by HC's record as they played almost all of these games close. Also if we look at like opponents we have- HC over Newport 13-6

Desales over Newport 24-12

HC over Carrol County 56-3

Desales over Carrol County 30-15

If you are going to use the excuse of Carrol County not being able to pass due to the conditions then you could say Newport could fall under that too. The passing game is the only thing Newport had on HC as they held them to well under 100 yards rushing for the game. Also HC didn't allow Carrol County to run the ball at all today.

I understand if you take Desales as that's your opinion, but for you to say Desales will blow HC out "given the facts" is just an untrue statement.

That is just one game my friend. You cannot base your decision off of one or two games. Take a look at the big picture.
