How Can I Find Out Who Hosts in the Third Round?

Featured Replies

I am trying to make Thanksgiving plans and figure out where/when St. X would play, if they win one more round.

Based on who they play.

The only possibility that X wouldn't host would be if they play Greenwood (both one seeds). Then it's based on what district each team is in. Teams in even numbered districts have home field this year. If both teams are even or odd then the team in the higher numbered district hosts. (X is in D3, Greenwood in D2)

So based on all of that if X plays Greenwood they travel, if they play anyone else they stay home.

The third round is the regional finals. The higher seeded team would host the regional finals game. If two teams with the same seed (both #1 seeds) play each other in the regional finals, then the odd number district hosts in odd years and even number district hosts in even years.

St X is in District 3 and they are playing against District 2

So if St X and Greenwood (both #1 seeds) meet in the regional finals, then St. X would have to play on the road.

If St X meets anybody else in the regional finals, then St X would host because they would be a higher seed.

This stuff is so confusing to me lol!

Thanks.

The fun fact omitted is that two equal seeds facing each other and they both represent odd districts in an even numbered year, then the higher numbered odd district is the host. Trinity represents district 5 and Daviess would have represented district 1, so the Rocks were going tp stay home through three rounds regardless.
