Garrard has alot of good players, maybe they made a mistake running Stoney off. The game was close last year wasn't it? Maybe they made a mistake somewhere.

 

2007: Frankfort 34, Garrard County 0

2006: Frankfort 38, Garrard County 6 (only played 1 half; weather cancelled second half)

Stoney wasn't run off, it was just time for a change. That is in the past and that is where it needs to stay. The new staff is moving the program in the right direction, even though this years record may not show it.

 

The players are playing harder this year than they have in many years under Stoney. There is confidence in the new coaching staff and everyone believes it was a move in the right direction. Yes the record is under .500 but the obvious connection with the coaches and players is evident.

Good job, Frankfort!

Yes I thought that it was closer, plus Frankfort lost alot of seniors last year 14 or 15 I think and Garrard had most of there back. HMM :creepy:

Actually Garrard is still considered a young team. Yes only 5 seniors graduated last year, but there are only 6 this year. Only two of the six are 4 year starters. With 30 something players on the team Garrard is forced to start/play sophomores and freshmen.

Chris Hendrix and Michael Riley have started all 4 years. Jansen Penman didnt play his freshmen year, but has started all 3 he has played.

I've heard about the Riley kid...What is his plans after High school, what schools are looking at him?

I think he can play at the NAIA level. His instincts are good, but he's probably a step slow and not big enough to play much higher than NAIA. But wherever he goes, that school is getting a good player and a fine young man.

I have heard Campbellsville, Cumberland, Graceland(iowa) and a few Div. II teams are talking to him.
