Why do my teeth hurt?

No doubt.

Shouldn't you be sterilizing a microspatula or something?

I had the same thing happen to me several months ago. It hurt when I tried to close my jaw down enough to clinch my teeth together. I dealt with it and it finally went away so I thought. Turns out it came back later just not as bad. The last trip to the dentist I asked about it and sure enough...he said I see all kinds of evidence of you grinding your teeth. Long story short...have to get a night guard, and they ain't cheap!!

Haha forget that I'll just go cheap, get a football mout piece or something.
