I am confused at the moment. Which regions have homefield advantage for the Regional Finals? I have been trying to figure out where the state semi final games will be held for the 4A and 5A. I went to the KHSAA site and got even more confused. Does anyone have an answer? Thanks.

If it is 2 #1 seeds the team in the even numbered district gets the home game in even numbered years. If it is not 2 #1 seeds then the higher seed gets the home game.

 

For the state semi final game the even numbered region gets the home game (no matter the seed) in the even numbered year.

1A through 5A are all the same for regional finals

-If the seeds are the same, the game is at the even district.

-If the seeds are different, best seed hosts

 

In 6A

Even Districts host; if both are even or both are odd, highest district numerically would host

 

Region 1: District 1 vs. District 5

-If seeds are same, District 5 winner would host

 

Region 2: District 2 vs. District 3

-If seeds are same, District 2 winner would host

 

Region 3: District 6 vs. District 7

-If seeds are same, District 6 winner would host

 

Region 4: District 4 vs. District 8

-If seeds are same, District 8 winner would host

 

Of course in any situation, if one team (#1) has a higher seed than the other (#2), then the best seed hosts

In the semi-state round, the home teams will be the ones on the second and fourth lines of the bracket when there are only four teams left.
