Final

Big time win for the Colonels. They've got a good shot at making it to the "rug" this year!!!

The most amazing thing in this game is points scored...

Figured this would be a 14-7 type affair !!!

This puts Owensboro and Bowling Green on the same side of the regional bracket; Christian County would only have to beat one. Bowling Green would be on the road, however. A state semifinal with John Hardin would also be on the road. Christian County can make a run, but it's a treacherous road.

Big comeback by the Colonels. They were down about 13 in the 4th.

BG (district 2) shouldn't travel until the state semi (if they made it that far) according to these sources:

Per KHSAA:

The highest seed (finishing position in the district) shall host the regional championship game (third round). Should

teams with the same seeding meet in the third round, the team representing the even-numbered District shall host

the games in even-numbered years, while the team representing the odd-numbered District shall host the game in

odd-numbered years. If the paired districts are both even or both odd, the highest numbered district shall host the

game in even numbered years and the lowest numbered district shall host the game in odd numbered years.

Per BG Daily News today:

If the Purples are successful in the postseason, they’ll have three playoff games at El Donaldson Stadium before traveling for the Class 5A semifinals and a possible fourth straight trip to the state finals.

Isn't that what I said. Bowling Green will host the first two rounds because they will be the highest seed. They would host Christian County in a regional final because they are the even district (#2) in an even year. They would travel to John Hardin/Doss/Oldham County in the state semifinals because that is the even region.

Sorry...thought you meant the regional championship.

Not a problem. It can get confusing!:D

Doss beat John Hardin tonight- they are district champs!

OHS was up 34-14 with about 6 minutes to go in the game and I still do not believe what I watched 4 straight turnovers. The game should have been over but good job by Christian co. On the comeback but the classless going to midfield and jumping up and down on the OHS logo and the things they were saying was totally uncalled for and truely tasteless. But hey they are kids and I blame that on the coaches for that display.

I sat on the Christian Co. side, and several of their fans were actually yelling things such as hurt them. On mother in particular sitting just below me, was specifically yelling for them to hurt Shemwell and put him out of the game. Me and my buddies were quite shocked at the behavior.

Big win for the Colonels. Owensboro's lack of experience at quarterback and inability to throw down the field will hurt them in the playoffs. They have the tools everywhere else.
