Surely you do not believe this. I had assumed that you understood how many newspapers across the country reprint front page New York Times stories, how many web sites run them, and how many TV and radio stations cite them. A front page story in the NYT or Washington Post reaches far beyond those newspapers' shrinking lists of subscribers. Most sane people discard unsolicited email messages without reading them and blacklist the sender's address.

 

Liberals have a tough time acknowledging the obvious media bias in this campaign - despite several top Democrats expressing the same opinion as me on the subject.

I have had a lot of this Muslim/Obama garbage come to my email from good church members who happened to be advanced in years and never take the time to check out he facts on other sites. They pass it to me thinking I should likewise be enraged with them. When I send them a snopes page or fact check page that usually debunks the item they get offended and still don't know how it can't be true when their friend got it from their friend whose other friend sent it.

I don't believe that the number of people who make their voting decisions based on internet chain mails is significant compared to the people swayed directly and indirectly by the inundation of pro-Obama news articles originating on the pages of the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the major networks.
