I'll give him credit for being neurotic, self-important, paranoid and boorish, that's about it.

 

They got lucky with their timing is about all I'll give GR. They came along at a time when people had gotten sick of hair metal, they were slightly different (although I've always thought of them as on par with Poison, Winger, etc.) and that was enough to snow unsuspecting hard rockers.

 

It wasn't the Sex Pistols, but G'n'R, in fact, who pulled the great rock'n'roll swindle.

I love Guns+Roses. I think it should be false advertisemnt if Duff+Slash aren't in the band. Steven Adler is on Celebrity Rehab so to me it's a joke they call it Guns and Roses (I know he was kicked out). It's not the same when they all aren't together. That's like Slash without Axel trying to use the name. I would like to here the albumn though.

I like what Ive heard of the album. I have to agree with stick1 that I like the original band better? I wonder what the chances are for a reunion of the original band and possible tour? It would be a huge sellout in my opinion.

I don't recall them ever claiming to be great musicians. Axl, on the other hand, has an ego that far outpaces the quality of music he produced. In his own words, from a stupid MTV gag where viewers could "win" his domicile: "You can have the pad; I'm keepin' my aura."
