Newark, you are not going to find a job by just sending resume's out the door. You have to network with friends, family, former colleagues, coaches, pastors, etc. I mean you have to let everyone know you are looking and dont be shy about asking folks to recommend you to others.

 

Hiring is not done blindly, most hiring managers depend on referrals and trust of their business partners, colleagues, friends, etc.

 

I suggest going out and setting up profiles on these sites. http://www.linkedin.com http://www.facebook.com

Good to hear. You might want to have your resume professionally done as well. Dont forget cover letters also.

I have put two more out today(49)

I am going to try and put another one out later.

The last time I was laid off I had 55 out before I got a job and it came from outside of the 55 resumes I had out.

I wouldn't worry about the number (quantity) as much as who they are going to and how they look. Are each of them accompanied by a cover letter?

The sites I am using (for the most part) does not have a cover letter attachment on them.

 

I am having a new one made with a cover letter attached.

 

I am now up to 54 and all 54 places were/are hiring when I put them in.
