We know how it feels to get degraded all of the time and have our young men work their butts of all week and play their hearts out on Fridays. Success is more than wins and losses and teams like McCreary and Harlan may never win a state championship but because they have a program they help develope respectfull hard working young men. These young men deserve praise and support for putting in their time for the school and community. I thank God every day that 48 young men in McCreary county are playing football and not out doing drugs or what have you. I say good job to all athletes at every school and good luck to the Green Dragons and to the Raiders! 1968isaac thanks for your comment us in McCreary Co appreciate it. AllSEC first team his jr and sr years. I remember listening on the radio to his first game at Vandy. They were playing Duke and he played sparingly in the first half and then lit it up in the 2cd half. He finished with 36 and that was before the 3 pt line. :thumb:

The Harlan atmosphere is nowhere near as hostile as it used to be. There were times years ago that you wondered if you, were indeed, "going to get out of Harlan alive"!:lol:

Wow what a blast from the past...and you're right. Harlan has lost that "swagger" that a certain a coach helped instill. Maybe lost it with the coach, but as many people have said in this thread: McCreary will out-number Harlan with athletes. You simply can't beat speed without speed.

This game could get ugly! Mcreary 48 Harlan 14 I have seen the Watts kid play basketball and he is one IMPRESSIVE looking athlete. I am looking forward to seeing him play football. Anyone in the Harlan County area that is a big sports fan and is not going to see the Black Bears play tonight, if you want to see arguably the best all around athlete in the state of Kentucky go see this game tonight!!!

One man does not make a team. I have never seen the kid play before, but I do know that it takes 11 and not 1. I will not say anything negative about any young man who plays the game of football. But, I know an old coach who use to tell his players that, "they put there pants on the same way you do", and I do know that the Dragons have this kind of thinking and to win, they know they have to play with all 11 and not just one or two. Good luck tonight to both teams and may the best team win.
