If this answer is in reply to my question about the boys being on the field from Scott while the Brossart players were running -

 

The group of boys I saw were no older than high school age and certainly not coaches.

If you are talking about the Walton game there was a few Scott players there cheering on thier old coaches. The kids and the old coaches were very close and that could be the group of boys you are talking about.

I just think Brossart made a terrible mistake in hiring the current coach, plus the atmosphere on the staff doesn't seem much better either. I just feel it is absolutely ridiculous to make the players even more embarrassed by running sprints after the game. It's not the players fault they are being out-coached by leaps and bounds

Have to question if they will get there with this coach. Anyone know why he won't shake the hand of the opponent? Or why he makes kids run after a hard game? I don't know how much discipline your teaching at that point. I do think your running kids off that are thinking, we played hard and lost but being punished for not being good enough.

 

He does shake hands with the other coaches. As far as running them after a hard game. Every coach has thier own style but I have talked to a number of the players and they dont seem to mind it they stated they are finally happy they have a coach that actually cares about them and the team.

They made a very good choice with this coach, he has a good staff you have to remember that this is a team with a lot of freshman and sophmores starting. They were hired in June I believe and havent even had a weight program in the winter or spring ball together. Give it time your not just going to take this program and be a power house. Its not suprising that people are going to start bashing the coaches and the way they do things but doing it after 4 games and all the things they have had to over come is adsolutely ridiculous.

I know he didn't shake hands last week with the Bellevue coaches....that was noticeable from the stands. As the teams were meeting at midfield shaking hands, the rest of Brossarts staff was out their, but the Head Coach was standing on the sidelines with his arms crossed. Not a very good message to send to his kids.

 

Maybe he should join in the sprints with his kids!!:lol:

This game should be a win for Newport. No disrespect toward Bishop Brossart but Newport has more skilled players than BB does. Newport played so much better last week against Lloyd and they did it without the so-called star players (Thomas and Webb) - IMO if your team functioned as one solid unit without them then that should tell you something. Granted they both are descent players but when you discover you play as one unit that should be an indicator. Newport IMO will win but it should not be anything to celebrate.

Newport is gettin better each week I think they will have a chance to win a few more game's if they can play the way they did against Lloyd with out the turnovers and penaltys. Newport O line looked a lot better they was openin holes for Short and to run threw, Collins was gettin time to throw the ball and was able to run with it. The D line still needs some work they will need to be able to stop the run to win.
