Me too, We had to deal with UL fans for 3 years, Talking about Elite, and junk like that. So Im sure It's easy to do now days.

UL was better in 2005 and 2006 than UK has ever been, and UL fans had EVERY reason to be boastful. UK has one more easy week before they start playing football. We'll see if attitudes change around here a bit in a few weeks.

Friday night is not prime time. I know it's the only way UL gets on one of the ESPNs but it is not prime time.

 

You really show no class, especially when you bring nothing of substance to a thread. That said, Louisville has played their fair share of PRIMETIME games on national TV...

I've got some questions that someone might be able to help me out with...

 

When the Anderson/Bolen combo is working so well, WHY put in Powell?

 

When Doug Beaumont is our best reciever, WHY throw to Chichester?

 

When the other team's quarterback is right in front of you, WHY not tackle him?

 

When you're 3 and long, WHY use a running play?

I will field a couple...the RB situation is a trio, which two get hot will get the carries, Bilal looked great last night. It wasn't Brock's night. Doug was being bottled up pretty well in the zone last night, Josh simply needs to learn how to hold onto the ball....he will be fine. Remember Long comes back soon as well.

 

All in all I was happy with 95% of the game. I didn't like the lack of gang tackling, or fundamentals in wrapping a guy up. To let a guy run for 190 yards is an embarrassment. This Cardinal team has some growing pains to do, but they will do some very special things.

I am totally fed up with Kragthorpe and Brohm (to be honest). Brohm has not done a good job calling plays. K-thorpe, well, I don't think I need to say anything. I am tired of hearing UofL fans defend him. That loss last night was terrible. I am not a negative fan ranting, but if something ain't working, you got to fix it. TJ needs to swallow his pride, and remove K-thorpe.

 

I think there were a couple of plays on offense that I would change, but not many. I find it comical that you can complain about play calling when an offense puts up 501 yards. If Beaumont doesn't fumble, or Josh holds onto a couple of passes, they would've put up more numbers, and likely more points, plus came away with the "W". Kragthorpe has done a great job with this team. We as fans are disappointed, but that's a good thing. Look at how young and in-experienced this team is, then when the Cards are in a bowl you will see how great a coaching job was done this season.

 

*Never fire a coach in during the season.

That explains why ESPN ratings have been so low.

U of L has played in 2 of ESPN's biggest ratings games ever.

Cantwell threw an awful pass for the pick 6 but I blame last nights loss 100% on Krag & Brohm. There was some flat out pitiful play calling last night and it's really starting to wear on me. UofL should have won this game no questions asked, it was the most disappointing game I've been to in a long, long, long time.

 

Last year's Syracuse and Utah games were much, MUCH more disappointing..

I understand that UK will have a hard time starting next weekend, I can deal with It, Im a UK fan. But I can say, That UK has played 3 VERY weak teams.

U of L is not a VERY weak team, nor are they a weak team. They are an inexperienced team, who makes mistakes. They can be a very good team by season's end/

Comical? 501 yards is great, but 21 pts off of 501 yards, that is awful. Kragthorpe has done a great job, are you serious. How many NFL players were on that roster that went 6-6 last year. They got plent of talent this year too. I hope they do make a bowl, but come on. We have went from expecting a bowl game, hoping for a BCS game to "when the Cards are in a bowl you will see how great a coaching job was done this season." The image of the program, or reality of the program, has changed that much in 1 1/4 seasons under Kragthorpe.

 

He didn't walk into a bad situation. A bad situation ain't 9 straight bowl games (or whatever the count was) and an orange bowl victory. He has done a miserable job, and should be held accountable.

^ He walked into a much worse situation that any of could ever know. There wasn't much continuity to anything in regards to his team, prior to this season. They are going to experience problems, we need to suck them up, and enjoy the fruits of their labor when they have more experience.

"Had to deal" with? I've "had to deal" with UK basketball championships and ALMOST championships over the year, but I honestly don't go off on a tangent in the basketball threads when they don't make it. In fact, as a Kentuckian, I usually hope that UK is the 2nd best team in any sport, right behind UofL. So if UK fans want to shout all that, be my guest, but it's absolutely ridiculous. It's just like the game this year, instead of UK fans talking about how impressed they were with UK's defense, they were just talking about how bad UofL was. What kind of fandom is that? UK can never be good, UofL just bad? I don't get it, and I hope I'll never be like that.

 

And the whole "Boy Who Cried Wolf" factor is a COMPLETE joke. The UK fans that try to say "I knew UofL wasn't going to do any good, mwahaha!" they act as if they're professional sportscasters, when the fact is they root against UofL in EVERYTHING, ALL THE TIME, so when they're right, they whoop it up like they're special.

 

Face it, here's the logic (I wish I could say "fool-proof" logic, but I know there are UK fans that will argue for the sake of riling people up, and I have gotten pretty good at ignoring them - obviously not in this case, but aw well, I slipped) behind UofL's hype the past few years: In 2006, it was the Mike Bush-Brian Brohm combination, which as proven in the UK game until Bush's injury was SICK. Now, without their main back, UofL had to change the game plan they had worked on all pre-season long - not an easy task. But they made it to and won the Orange Bowl. So the next year, UofL loses it's head coach, but keeps their star QB along with the majority of players on both offense and defense. This is where I love to call out the 'wolf-criers', by simple math. If the majority of a great team returns, you can safely predict you'll have a great team.

 

And here's saying what the UK fans love to see us admit: UofL blew it, BIG TIME. They had their heads uncomfortably misplaced, the coaching situation was a much bigger X factor than predicted, and our defense apparently all suffered from amnesia and forgot everything about the game of football. There really was no excuse for any UofL fan, no matter how many we tried to make, there was no reason for UofL being as horrible as they were last season. But it happened.

 

That being said, I still take a lot of pride in being a Cardinal alumni, and I love seeing players like Vic and Doug who could be stars on any team in the country, but they were proud enough to come to Louisville even after the big bust. The future is indeed still bright for the Cardinals, and I'll always cheer for them in the hopes that they'll be the best team around... and I'll even still hope for UK to be the second best, even when they're having multiple losing seasons. Something, as a UofL fan, I can't really fathom (I didn't pay much attention to Cardinal sports in the pre-Petrino era, so I don't know what that's like).
