Prestonsburg 40 Bath Co. 14

Featured Replies

The game was close for about 18 minutes. P'burg took control late in the second quarter and never looked back. They out scored Bath 28-0 during this stretch.

I admit P-Burg handed us (Bath Co.) a loss in a very fair game. P-Burg looked very good in the 2nd half.

Prestonburg is a much better team and after watching the game a much better coaching staff.

Congratulations Blackcats:dancingpa

I admire (ed) the mentality of Bath County and their fans that they can just step up and win the district, but what Pburg has built has taken a lot of years and I couldn't see Bath obtaining that in the span of a couple seasons. Blackcats had too much depth and experience returning off of last season's team.

If Bath continues to approach each season with confidence and work ahrd in the feeder system the results will come though in time.

The final score should be 40-14.

Would a mod mind changing that ??

We are working hard. The 8th grade class we have coming in is VERY good. Give us a few years, Bath will be on the map.

And with a -possible- P-burg drop off (in talent) over the next couple of years, Bath Co. could indeed be looking pretty good in the near future.

With the talent that Bath has right now then they should have already been on the map. This coaching staff has been in place for 5 years. By saying that Bath has zero playoff wins, zero district championships, and zero wins in big games. How long does it take? Now you are talking about the current

8th grade class which will not even be a factor for at least two more seasons.

These kids are coming through the entire program now. Our freshman class this year was the first kids to get to play in the youth flag program, the 8th graders had 2 years and so on. Our youth program has grown by leaps and bounds and I think this will really show in the upcoming years. The junior pro teams are playing really good competition and no powder puff teams, Montgomery Co, Rowan, and the Lexington Indoor League. I think this will really help the program in the future.

The current seniors have been in this program since the 8th grade. And like I said in another post they have no big wins to show. And saying that this freshman class is the first group to go through the youth program is not saying much about your youth program when Lewis Co. beats your freshman 20-0.

You must have something against Bath Co. Are you from Nicholas, Rowan, or Paris? I detect a little jealousy from you!

Bath's freshman class could have been a lot better but pretty much got neglected last year at the middle school level and all the attention given to the much mentioned 7th grade which is right now a great class, however you must remember two of the main kids in the seventh grade class have also been held back a year, one of them two years and that makes a big difference at the middle school level. I agree the the high school staff at Bath is not getting the most out of the talent they have coming through there. Bath shouldn't be losing by 25 points to Prestonburg. Not with Metz, Mabry, Boyd, Terry...they have the players.
