Where was this game played?

 

It was a home game for Knox Central.

Was that about the time Bell fumbled to Knox, the refs huddled, then gave the ball to Knox, then after several minutes changed the call to no fumble?

 

I think Wayne was just making sure they charged the timeout to Dudley while the play was reviewed in the booth. :lol:

 

Seriously, I saw Mills jawing with the refs after that little scene, I seriously doubt he would say anything to Bell's players so I'm going to drop this subject.

 

:laugh: at the booth comment.:thumb: But what I'm referring to was after this, thats was before halftime I beleive, but yes, I'm positive he was jawing the Bell Co. players due to the reaction Zachery gave after the next play was ran and KC was called penalized...again (Zachery looked over at Mills clapping awfully loud without looking away until the next play began). I'm nearly positive there was interaction between the two.

Not trying to start anything or show any disrespect. Just thought it was a bit out there. About the game though, I thought Greer looked good, seemed to have a hard time getting going though. The passing for Bell needs to improve greatly, if the Bobcats want another undefeated regular season, definately needs some major work done. I'm not sure what the problem is really, but last week I thought they came out flat, and this week neither team had the chance to get going with all of the flags

Bell never could get in a rhythm on offense. I don't believe I have ever seen a more disjuncted game when it came to penalties. The officiating crew was constantly in huddles, changing calls, picking up flags....and calling more penalties than I have ever seen in any high school game....EVER! Cannot wait to see the totals. Most were against Bell in first half...and seemed to go against Knox Central in second half. Sure made for long game....and when two primarily running teams take this long to play a game...GOOD GRIEF!! Let'm play football. Seemed like we were watching a flag football contest some of the time! Bell's special teams play seemed to play a key role. Merrick has 46 yd. punting average on two punts; successful onside kick; three touch backs and a long fake punt for a near touchdown that set up a key score.

I agree. It was a fine game until the refs just got totally flag happy. That's bad enough but I don't think I've ever seen so many calls reversed, in some cases the reversal was reversed.

 

I thought Bell's special teams and ball security were the difference.

Seriously, we knew the opening 3 games of Clay, Corbin, and Bell back to back to back would be tough. I think KC will be a better team for it.

Just watching the game last night couldn't believe what I was watching. All the yellow flags on the field was terrible. I believe that you could have called holding all night long on KC. I am sure there are several things that should have been called on Bell too. It just seemed more obvious for KC because of it being right in front of the officials. I saw several times whe KC was cutting Bell's running backs at the line of scrimmage at their legs which is definitely a penalty. This was finally called but not without the complaint of Coach Mills saying that it was legal. I believe that he knows that is not. Several of Bell's Players def line came off the field with lower leg injuries due to a post and chop which is not allowed. I am very disappointed in the way that Coach Mills acted last night. I know that probably some of the Knox Central fans feel the same way about Bell Co. But I really didn't see much from them other than after the fact that something has all ready happened to them because of a KC player taunting.

First, I would like to say from the unslot of this game was absolutely horribly called. I am not one to get on here and speak negatively but the sportmanship from Knox hi/lowing the Bell players was something of a disgrace. Then, I noticed a hold on just about every offensive play that Knox ran. Bell's players jerseys would be stretched to the point u could see the entire tops of there shoulder pads. Bell's offense never had a chance to even come close to getting any type of rythem due the poor officiating and Knox's divin defense. :fight:

Glad I wasnt the only one that felt this way when the game was complete. I was ashamed for the Knox faithful. My wife and I were leaving the stadium and the players were cursing, throwing water bottles, throwing the helmets to the ground. Just outa control and that was how they played as well with that type of attitude on the field.

This must have been absent this week during preparation and during the game last night.

It was mostly a game of cheap shots and yellow flags. The refs let the game get out of hand from the start. Was very long and drawn out. Knox came to play tonight and in my opinion whipped Bell every where but the score board. Bell as usual came out in there arrogant and one man style of play and could have easily left with a loss. Dud has got a lot of work cut out for him finding a senior that is going to step up and say enough is enough. Could be, an under classman will have to do the job. Hopefully the post game butt chewing sank in for Bell.

 

Please do not take this the wrong way, but an underclassman will not lead this group of seniors. They may want to try...they may be encouraged to try, but it is not going to happen. The problem that Dudley is having with his Seniors is they don't fit into a nice predictable formula like years past. (One senior who he can call his leader.) This group leads as a group and controls each other and the rest of the team as a group and if that is not understood, or if it is manipulated in order to get one Senior to lead the team, then we are in trouble!

 

This group of young men have a swagger that cannot be coached. They take the field and expect to win. If the coaching staff thinks that they will get a leader out of one of the seniors by pitting them against one another or trying to look to an underclassmen for leadership, then they are making a grave mistake! This group plays off each others strengths and covers one anothers weaknesses. Their whole success since middle school has been their unity. There are a few coaches on the Bell staff that understand this and know how to work this group to their full advantage, but they are obviously not speaking up or being listened to?! Not sure which one it is?

First let me clarify that I wasn't pointing the finger at Bell for the cheap shots. That part was obvious Trenches. As the calls were made against Knox, they were being incouraged by the coaching staff to "keep hitting them". As for leadership, maybe a little off the field, in the game of life, would better benefit this exceptional group of seniors. :thumb: I do agree this is a unique senior class. I have watched them much longer than just the middle school.

I'm certainly glad others are seeing what I saw, but let's just hope both teams can get on the right track and straighten up a bit, whether it be sportsmanship, or just poor play.
