I had the angiogram done this morning and they did not find any blockage. Man that was a little scary. I do have high cholesterol and my triglycerides are real high. They have put me on the med Tricor, this should help lower both. I will also be changing a lot of my eating habits, along with some other life style habits. I want to thank everyone for all your words of encouragement, it really did help. I would also like to encourage people to have their cholesterol checked, it's a very simple blood test. I am 5'10 and weigh 175, so you don't have to be a big person to have high cholesterol. I believe that's what a lot of people think, but it's not true.

Again, thanks to everyone. Haven't had much sleep, so I think that's what I'm going to do.

Wonderful news and glad everything was okay.

It sounds like that you are definitely on the right track. Some things that I would recommend to help lower your cholesterol...eat oats or some form for instance Cheerios, oatmeal bars, anything containing oats at least once a day. Check with your Dr first about vitamins, Centrum Cardio comes to mind which is what I take. If you don't exercise start slow by walking first a quarter of a mile daily then the next week try walking half a mile everyday...just increase a quarter each week til you get to a mile.

A good reminder to everyone to check cholesterol. Good luck to you. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thank you KG. I have been eating alot of oatmeal, along with Honey nut Cheerrios. I was told by the Dr. to take it easy for a few days following yesterdays procedure, but I plan on walking everyday, beginning very soon.

Very glad to hear this! Good reminder that high cholesterol does not always equal being overweight.

I use to get heartburn real bad, until I finally realized what foods were giving it to me. Tomatoes are no longer a part of my diet, nor spicy foods.:irked: My stomach does seem to bother me though more than it probably should. I had double hernia surgery two years ago though, not sure if could be that or not. I have a follow up visit with both my Dr's next week, I will bring that up.
It sure sounds like what I got but, I'd ask your doctor to make sure.

Amen,sister! :D

We had one of those health fairs at work and they checked my cholesterol. I never had a problem with it before. They said I need to go to my doctor.

He did all of the blood work and told me that both my good and bad cholesterol was so high that I would've had some type of cardiac event within 12 to 18 months. I take medication to control it now.
