I can't say he's been on the sidelines for EVERY home game, but he has for most of the home games. Sure Charlie has a choice. Heck, he gets paid peanuts for the hours of work he has to put in. If Dale being on the sidelined bothered him, he just wouldn't coach or he'd coach somewhere else. Its not like he has to or anything. And I truly believe that if Charlie said it bothered him in the slightest, Dale wouldn't do it. But Charlie knows that Dale can be helpful to winning the games; so he's more than happy for the help. An "injustice"? Heck you don't even know if Charlie minds and you are saying its an injustice. Jack, you're up to it again this year. Just sit back and enjoy the Birds winning. I know you have opinions: don't we all. But a wise man once said: if you keep quiet, one may wonder if you are a fool; open your mouth and you might confirm it.

I personally think it was a shot in the arm that the Birds needed. The first game with NCC I didnt see the same intensity that I saw last night. Not to put down any of the coaches because they are all very good. I am just saying that those kids responded to Dale being on the sideline and it created a success story.

 

I wouldnt say the line dominated but they played very well when they needed to. Those guys do a good job of turning their guys but need to be conistent with sustaining blocks and driving with their legs. They have some nice athletes out there and once they start learning the techniques and coupling that with leg drive and 3-5 second blocking they will all be studs.

 

I thought the passes New threw while on the run were not very catchable even if the routes were broken off. New is a good enough runner that he probably could have tucked it and ran with it. If you get Carter New as a threat running look out. He is very elusive in the backfield. They have a lot of very nice athletes on this team in Dupont, Ringwald, Carson, True, Quillen, New, Towles and several more. I look for this group to be fine in the years to come.

Who is the coach of the team? Is Dale on the sidelines for every game? I have no problem with him talking to the boys before the game, but let the coaches coach. After all, Charlie Barr has had quite a bit of success over the last 25 years.

 

Highlands is all about the TEAM. Dale and Charlie are part of that team. As such, they work together for the betterment of the team.

 

Last night that team worked together, inspired the baby birds and walked away with a victory. How is that a bad thing?
