Yes the game is at JC. Bryan Station does seem to struggle on the road, thus their move to Class 6A.

The move to 6A is based on the added enrolment after completion of the new school building.

I wonder what kind of music JC should have playing when BS rolls off the bus...?

 

I got a feeling it won't have much of a beat, and you can't dance to it.

This is a game I would like to witness. The winner should be squarely in the lead for the district race. I have to give the edge to JC since they are playing at home…and also, BS remains somewhat of an enigma to me. They typically are big, numerous and athletic, but have a tendency to fall short. I’m not close enough to the program to understand why this is, but the Defenders need to play up to expectations if they want to get a W in Paintsville.

Bryan Station by at least 3 touchdowns. These kids have everything you need to win a championship. IMO the only team that will be able to play with Station will be Scott County. If they stay healthy. I am not sure what they did to this team in the last year but they are nothing like the teams of the past.

 

One thing also to be considered is that Central's team is a touchdown or two better than they were last year as well. The offensive line in particular is better, and the running backs are tougher and more physical than last year. Grim may have been the big-play threat, but Richardson and Nathan Dillon are superior athletes who will wear down defenses, and Dennis Dillon is (I think) a better ball-handler running the belly than Ratliff was (although Ratliff was a better passer). Station will have a tough task winning in Johnson County, no matter how improved they might be, because Johnson Central is also improved as well (and JC won this game by a little over six touchdowns last year).

Six touchdown win last year and some real added depth at RB seems to make me think that there is a fairly good shot that JC wins this one. JC 28 - BS14

With Johnson Central team improving every year I am giving them the win, simply because of the fact they are 3-0 against this team.

Their results definitely look better. They rolled up two big wins, although Dunbar is now 0-2 (having lost to Middlesboro in a shutout) and Western's other game was a win over a winless West Jessamine team.

 

In the last two years, I hadn't really understood Coach Lucas's offensive philosophy at Station. He's had some outstanding athletes who would've been great running backs in particular, but he's tried to emphasize the pass the last two years against Central. Had he put the ball more in the hands of players like Combs and Wilhite and Philon and run straight ahead instead of making his poor quarterback run for his life in the backfield trying to pass, I think the results might have been different.

Station is seemingly much improved this year under Coach Lucus, but I don't think they can take it to Central.
