Every post of yours seems to include how absolutely wonderful and great the students at CCH and NDA are and what great kids they are too. I happen to know that there are a lot of great kids at those schools and a lot of not so great kids and some of them happen to be kids you have applauded in the past. It gets a little old. September 7, 200818 yr Beechwood's current Junior class has a very large group of exceptional students. I would be willing to bet that next year's scores will be even higher.
September 7, 200818 yr The ACT is now part of the CATS test accountability, so public schools must administer the test to ALL juniors, even those that have no intention of attending college. The results for those students do not affect them in any way, so there are some that just bubble in random circle patterns...or those that refuse to take them at all. Additionally, the school must pay for the test. I don't know the policies of private schools or if they give the test to all students. I would assume that they still go by the policy of students that are college bound and WANT to take the test doing so...and paying for it themselves.

I know my son took it his Junior year, as did all of his friends. And yes, the students/parents pay for it.

Given that Trinity has different learning "tracks", I don't think there's a certain score required, as a student's score is going to depend upon his academic abilities. I know that my son took it twice, but that was his own choice, because he had a personal goal.

I realize it's an average of scores from Jrs. and their scores may increase due to another class taken in their senior year, ex-calc. or 4th English, but a 19 or 20 hardly gets you into a state school. We need to be aiming a whole lot higher!

We need to be aiming a whole lot higher! On the surface I can see that they look low. However, keep in mind that public schools educate a broader range of students, including special ed and/or special needs kids as well as behavior problem kids. A public schools's "average score" is likely to be lower than private schools who do not have the same population.
September 14, 200818 yr I wonder what their scores would be if you took out the students who come from out of district and have to test to enroll?
