Sabathia said he would feel the exact same even if it got changed. Yost is blowing this way out of proportion IMO.

I have no problem with Yost sticking up for his pitcher. I agree with westsider that it was an error but you can't go back and change it.

 

I think this is the perfect time for MLB to do away with the current system of allowing the home team to provide an official scorer. MLB needs to assign official scorers that are neutral. This should elminate some of the incidents where players call the press box to dispute an error call because they know who the scorer is.

Can't change it now but they have went back during a game and change a scorer's ruling.

During a game they have but it wasn't going to happen at Pittsburgh with a member of the Pittsburgh media as the official scorer.

They need to leave it as a hit! No sense in changing it, you can't assume he would have kept the same mindset and same pitch selection. Plus as the game goes on the pressure becomes a lot heavier to get that no-hitter and when this happened it was in the 5th inning. This should be a non-issue but leave it to someone to make a big deal out of it!
